Project: NIKKE is a mobile third-person shooter created in Unity and using Live2D 3.3 tech. It focuses on simple controls (shooting occurs automatically) and beautiful visuals.

The game features a vertical view that allows you to play it with your cellphone held upright, and charming art by Kim Hyung-shop, another Destiny Child illustrator.

Players can take cover from enemy fire, while automatic attacks will be made when aiming in order to simplify controls on mobile platforms. In addition, different characters will have different skills.

During the distant future, humanity has been driven underground by metallic aliens. A battle android's development marks the beginning of humanity's comeback.

A new game is coming in 2020 that also targets the global market.

Shift Up made quite a buzz within the gaming community by releasing a series of new updates to Project Eve, a game that is now highly anticipated by PC and console gamers. There was another game announced by Shift Up along with Project Eve last year - NIKKE The Goddess of Victory. If you haven't seen Project Eve yet, why not take a look at our previous articles. But, if you already did, then let's turn our attention to this new game!

Shift Up is also known for the successful and beautiful mobile game, Destiny Child. If Destiny Child impressed you, then you'll be even more amazed when you see this one. However, I have a few questions for you. Do you like the fan service? Do you like to play with female characters with visible shiny buttcheeks, thick thighs, or inappropriate anime-sized tiddies? What about innovative mobile third-person shooting games? Then this game is for you!

Just look at that! Look at the next image too! There's no hypocrisy here. We've seen countless games that utilize this character design. The strategy adds spice to the game and is effective for the male audience, no doubt. The guns may look fantastic, but the character design really catches the eye.

Alright, now on to the next step. Take a deep breath and let's leave this topic of fan service right here. Let's talk about the game. Kim Hyung-stop, the game's main illustrator, is also working on it. NIKKE is said to have been created with Live2D Cubism 3 version and Spine animation technology. Hence, the impressive visual of this game.

Do you see? It's not hard to take your attention off that inappropriate firing pose and look at what the character is trying to shoot at. It seems we will be faced soon with metallic aliens. What we're going to use against them is called "NIKKE" which means "Goddess of Victory". Sounds weird and attractive, isn't it?

The NICKKE thing actually battles Androids. They were created by humans after getting nearly annihilated by metallic aliens. You can play the game in portrait or landscape mode. The main objective is to aim. That's what you might've expected too because it's a shooter game. So now that you know the genre and characters of the game, you probably know what I'm smelling.

Since aiming might be boring for you, how about collecting female Androids? Sure! That's another core feature of this game. The word "collect" alone already makes me think GACHA! Though not yet confirmed, it seems that this game is leaning towards that feature. Each NIKKE has a unique set of skills and weapons. Since the announcement, 4 NIKKE characters have been revealed:

  • Red Hood Rapide (Rifle)
  • Neon (Grenade Launcher)
  • Idda (Assault rifle)
  • Vesti (Rocket Launcher)

Gameplays include both PVE and PVP content, plus world bosses and co-op missions. As a result, we'll be able to enjoy the game with our friends. All we can see for now is waifu armed with heavy artillery. Who knows what will happen? Destiny Child added male characters, so this one might follow suit in the future.

The trailer was shown last year. The game will be ready by 2020. Due to some unknown reason, the release date of the game is now expected to be 2021. Considering what they mentioned in a press release, there is a strong possibility that the release will be global. There's still a possibility that Shift Up will do the same thing they did with Destiny Child - releasing it in Korea first. The only thing we know for sure right now is that we won't see the game until this year's end.

NIKKE: Goddess of Victory's official release date has not yet been announced. There is a weird pre-registration on TapTap right now. The links are as always below. This will be released for Android and iOS, so mobile fans rejoice! Although we might not be getting Project Eve, Shift Up hasn't abandoned us! As usual, I'd like to thank and give all credit to Shift Up for all the images, content, and trailer that I used. This game looks awesome and I am sure it will receive the same success as Destiny Child.
