A new Island system called Control Island was developed to improve how you use your tablet or phone.
It has more features than Dynamic Island, though!
Control Island allows you to make several shortcuts that are directly available from
the front camera's punch hole.
The shortcuts that are easily accessible include:
- Go back to the main screen.
- Take reverse action.
- Launch the power menu.
- Grab a screen grab.
- Shut down the display.
- Launch the camera.
- Activate the flashlight.
Moreover, in live Dynamic Island, certain notifications can be presented from the punch hole:
- low battery
- Battery is charging
- Music player
For the application to function, it needs two high-level permissions:
- The accessibility permission initiates actions for multiple shortcuts and allows access to touch events in the status bar.
- Notification permission: this permission is used to show the media player and receive events when music is played.
