Electronic Arts publishes Burnout 3: Takedown, a racing video game developed by Criterion Games. A fast-paced arcade racing game, Burnout 3 features the third installment in the series. Boost is a staple of the series, which is earned through risky driving. As the main mechanic in Burnout 3, Takedowns allow players to slam their opponents to the ground until they crash. Boost meters are filled up by takedowns and extended through the boost system. As well as circuit races, the game features modes for performing Takedowns on rival vehicles and causing monetary damage at traffic junctions. Various game variants feature a single-player campaign mode called World Tour, which is the primary way to unlock new and faster cars. Multiplayer options include online and split-screen.
