DiskDigger has the ability to undelete and recover photographs, images, and movies that have been lost from either the internal memory or the external memory card of your device. DiskDigger's strong data recovery features can search for your missing photos and movies and allow you to restore them, even if you erased them by accident or even formatted your memory card. This is true regardless of how you lost them.
You are able to upload the files that you have recovered directly to Google Drive or Dropbox, or you can email them to yourself. Additionally, the application gives you the option to save the files to a distinct local folder on your mobile device.
Note:
DiskDigger needs permission to "Access all files" on your device in order to be able to search all locations on the device for photos that have been deleted but can still be recovered. If you are prompted to grant this permission, please do so so that DiskDigger can conduct the search on your device in the most efficient manner possible.
- If your mobile device is not rooted, the application will only do a "limited" search for any photos or movies that you have previously deleted by checking your cache and thumbnails.
- If your device is rooted, the application will scan all of the memory on your device for any sign of photographs or movies, whether they are stored there or not!
- Tap the "Clean up" button once the scan is finished to remove from your device permanently any objects that you no longer require (this is an experimental function that is currently only available in the Basic Scan).
- You also have the option to use the "Wipe free space" feature, which will clear out any unused storage space on your device and make it impossible to restore any files that you have previously erased.
